Les Jardins d'Annevoie

A casket of greenery

Situated in the Haute-Meuse, in a region where forests and rivers go together in harmony, the Gardens of Annevoie are a true pearl in a casket of greenery. These Gardens, where the splendour and majesty of the French style mix harmoniously with English romanticism and Italian refinement, have been designed to unveil their treasures only little by little, gradually as the walk goes along, and to lead you from one surprise to another, along with the extraordinary diversity in contrasts.

A walk, marked by relaxation and freshness, surrounded by cascades and fountains, majestic hundred-year old trees, neatly trimmed hornbeam lanes, false grottoes, old times’ extravagancies, and strange flat typically Walloon statues. A walk that carries you far away from daily worries, a haven of peace, the result of the passion of a man who fell in love with the region. Yet, this garden is far from being set, but alive and in constant evolution. A unique setting where the waters have been flowing non-stop for the last 250 years and without any machinery, by a miracle of ingenuity. Come and listen to the murmuring of the cascades and the whispering of the leaves.

There will be nothing to disturb your time travel into the eighteenth century. Modernity is left behind as you go along the drive, making room for the atmosphere of the old days. The one of simple, long forgotten pleasures: tranquillity, strolling and a moment spent with your family. Let your children discover this enchanted place, far away from noise and stress.

Major heritage of Wallonia, gifted with two stars in the Michelin guide.
